I told my builder awhile ago that I wanted brushed nickel plumbing fixtures and door hardware in the same. Now that I am shoping for lighting I tend to like the darker finishes such as nutmeg and other assorted finishes that are darker.
It may be too late to change the brushed nickel order, would it look silly to have darker lighting fixtures in the same room as brushed nickel?
Should the baths be the same since the finishes are so close together?

They had wallpaper which I stripped off. The paint store says I need to remove the leftover glue with a solvent, rinse the walls, prime them with an oil base and then paint with a latex. This seems like a lot of work. Can’t I just do a light sanding and give 2 coats of latex?

My high school has a Kliegl Entertainer Lighting System and it is not working. It used to work perfectly, but they let someone else design the lights for a show and they screwed it up. Now its like it has pre-programmed cues and it just repeatedly runs them when you fire up the system. It comes on full blast all the lights, then it blacks out and after about 15 seconds, it slowly fades up just the fresnels and scoops. We have reset the whole system, but nada. If any one knows what to do, please help. I hate to be so blunt, but don’t give link to a Kliegl website, or a page from wikipedia. If you don’t know the answer, don’t bother researching it and trying to answer with a link because I’ve looked at every website and I can’t find a thing.I want personal experiences. It is mostly black lights very dim. I am trying to come up with an for the bathroom so that it goes with the theme of the place but also a little bit more lit. Also something geared towards military, gamers, and guys. Any ideas would be great please
In the process of removing an old bathroom wall light fixture, I inadvertantly pulled apart all the wire connections. I have three black wires, three white wires, and three bare(I’m assuming ground) wires. How do I reconnect them so that I can install a new light fixture (three wire setup, pos-neg-ground)? I’m willing to get tools to test if required–but I’m completely unfamiliar with the process so a walkthrough from someone experienced would be greatly appreciated!

Hi, i’m installing a light fixture(basic 1white and 1black), there are 2 cords coming out of the hole in the wall, each contains 1 black and 1 white wire + copper ground wire. I’ve tried connecting all 3 whites and all 3 blacks but this just trips the breaker. I have not connected the ground wires when trying this so may this be the problem?I am have alternated different combos of black and whites but the best i can achieve is to get the light to come on permanently w/o the switch working. Any suggestions?
