I have a light yellow sundress, empire waist, a-line (think fifties housewife with modern Gap twist) its a simple yellow dress and I’m thinking about adding a belt to accent/dress it up a bit. Any suggestions on color, style, etc?
i need a theme or color scheme for my bathroom. it is small. the paint is pale yellow and the bottom of wall has wood that has a medium stain. floor is a light beige ceramic tile. need ideas because right now it is just blah. no theme no color sceme. any ideas? thanks for any input, i am open to any,
I want modern and sophisticated window treatments for sliding glass doors. I have been able to pull most of my decor together, but I cannot figure out the best way to cover my sliding glass doors. They are approximately 7′ tall x 10′ wide. I enjoy the light that comes in during the day, but wish for privacy at night.

My boyfriend and I are moving in together, which I am very excited about…however, we have *very* different styles of furniture from our two different apartments. Everything in my apartment is pastel, antique, and "shabby chic." I have a dark rose loveseat, an antique wood trunk I use as a coffee table, a pale green bookcase, and pale blue antique stand. He has all dark wood furniture, a modern glass coffeetable, and a tan/light brown couch. This is a small one bedroom apartment. Is there a way to make this all work? We want to keep both of our furniture, just "blended" somehow.

I’m outfitting my long-dreamed-of comic shop with lighting (planning to open in January), and have purchased lighting fixtures to use 14-watt compact florescent reflecting bulbs (R20, with the standard base).
Other options I looked at were to use the MR16 halogen bulbs, which give a good light quality but heat up and use much more energy.
So, to add these lights, I’m going to have to add an additional 15-amp breaker to my box.
The question I have is whether using a 12-volt lighting system (available with the MR16-type lights) saves any energy (kwh as charged by the electric company), or whether it just means I need more amps.
Watts = Volts * Amps
For example, a 30-Watt bulb is 30 watts at 120 volts, so it uses .25 Amps on a circuit.
30w = 120v(.25Amps)
On a 12-Volt circuit=
30w = 12v(2.5Amps)
Is that right?
I’m installing ceramic tile for a bathroom floor over the light gray backer board. The problem is that the floor slopes almost 2 inches from the outside wall to the wall on the inside of the house due to settlement over the years. I have it braced up in the basement so I’m not worrying about any more movement, and don’t want to jack the floor back into place and crack the plaster throughout the house. How deep can I go with floor leveler, and any recommendations for a good self leveler brand?

This is driving me crazy. If you look closely the mesh is wider than normal workers mesh, and much more pliable… what is this called? And where can I find it?
