The cabinets are in the kitchen & bathroom. They are a light, honey-colored oak & are dry & cheap-looking with some superficial nicks & scratches. I want them to be restored & have a luster but not be too shiny. I would like for the honey color to be a little richer in tone & the yellow parts of the wood to be darker. Sanding, staining, glazing, painting?? I really don’t know what to do or how to do it, but I need to do it on my own in order to save money. I would appreciate all responses – Thanks!

According to the most commonly accepted modern theories, (as far as I am aware), the observed red-shift in light from distant galaxies is blamed on the expansion of the universe, and the resulting movement of those galaxies away from us.
Has anyone explored the possibility that photons are not as completely stable as we think they are? Could the red-shift actually be due to photons losing energy when traveling such vast distances?
Are there other indicators of the movement of galaxies away from us other than just red-shift? For instance, as they move farther away, are they becoming dimmer?
I asked this question….
How do I take out track lighting?
I plan on cutting the main power because the wiring in this house is messed. What do I do with the wires attached to the light? Just snip them and leave them hanging?
and got this answer:
No, you have to use wire nuts and put them back in the elec. box with a cover
What the hell does that mean? I mean, thanks Edward K, but you didn’t leave me much there. I suppose I could google it but at least with Yahoo! QnA, it allows us all to correspond.

i would like to draw a a set of traffic lights. The lights are designed to control access from a secondary road to a major road, so the time the lights spend at red (R) is longer than the time spent at green (G). The actual timings are to be as follows:
Y = 1:5s
R = 1:20s
R and Y = 1:5s
G = 1:10setc
how can I draw a truth table for the problem?

i have a 20gallon tank wit 2 light fixtures and a heatin pad. i have no snake yet because i want to make sure the lighting is right. i have his hiding place on one side of the tank wit a heatin pad underneath and 75watt heat lamp above. according to th thermometer in the cage, it reaches to around 85 F. at night the heatin pad stays on, the baskin lighy goes off and a blue 75watt moonlight comes on. the side wit his hidin place goes down around 75 and the other side jst below 80. this doesnt seem rite. wat am i doin rong?
I need some more light in the bathroom and I was looking at the pipes under the sink. There’s an outlet next to the water heater. I figure if I run the black power wire to the hot side and the common to the cold side, I can save a lot of time running Romex and all that crap all the way through the house. Then I can just punch a hole in the counter top and take the wires up to a fixture I have nailed to the wall. Where should I attach the green ground wire?
Hey – just looking for a ballpark figure.

My ceiling box has one each white, black and copper wire. The fixture only has black and a bare silver wire. The rubber part of the black wire in the fixture seems to be connected and you can pull it apart resulting in two black wires with copper in the middle. How to connect these to the wires in the ceiling box?
Used the advice from the first answer. Worked perfectly without killing myself. Thanks for saving me the cost of a pro.
