My husband and I were looking to build a log home, but only if we can have a somewhat modern/contemporary look for the interior. Neither one of us are really into the primitive or Americana decor, but we do like the look of the lighter log home interiors like this one:

the black goes to brass on the right, the white to silver on the left, ground on the screw…so do I put my new black on the same side as the existing black and white on the silver side and splice the ground?
OR do I have to ponytail? this is going from an inside outlet to make way for an outside motion detector light on the 2nd floor… thank-you

I need to replace a light bulb in a flush mount light fixture. But I see no center bolt on the light fixture so I dont know how to take the shade off and replace the light bulb.
Can anyone tell me how to replace a bulb on a flush mount light fixture that has no center bolt on it??
No screw on it , I tried to twist it hardly , no luck.
