I have a gym with 15 fluorescent fixtures in the ceiling (4 bulbs each) and they are turned on with 2 light switches. Sometimes it takes up to 30 minutes for them to all light…in the mean time the place is completely dark. In the past I have had to keep the switch turned on for a few minutes, flip off, then back on and they turn on. However now it’s taking up to 30 minutes to do the same thing. Any ideas?

I’ve always been into whites and beiges and earth tones, and it’s always been easy to decorate for me. Until now, I’ve decided to break away from the boring beiges and venture into color. I’ve gotten as far as painting my walls in a golden color, my son would descibe it as a twinky. It’s very over the top for me but I really like it. However, now I’m stuck. My furniture is kind of a medium oak with a scroll type iron work. The wall behind my bed has been faux painted using the woolie with more of a butterscotch color and a stencil over it in a slightly darker colored glaze. My carpet is beige and I have some iron sconces and accents and darker brown picture frames. My winter colors include a deep red and a sagy green with deep red curtains, fabulous. I’m trying to accomplish a lighter look for spring-summer now with great difficulty. I like a kind of spanish, tuscun, morracan, type look and like gold, red, melon, blue and green. Any suggestions would be highly appriciated. Thank you
P.S. I’VE ALREADY PAINTED I’M STUCK ON THE REST, LIKE BEDSPREADS, FABRICS AND SUCH.
I’d also like to add that I’m in my 30’s I’m trying to avoid making it girly, and everything I’ve tried so far just look like a grannies room.

I would like to cut my deck size down but dont know what to do plz help.
They are recessed lights and take regular lightbulbs. One switch controls five lights. The other switch controls six and is a dimmer. We replaced them with bulbs like the ones that were originally in them: 60 watt bulbs. We don’t leave these lights on a lot but the bulbs only last 2-3 months each — and they are a pain in a neck to change. What could be wrong? Thanks.

I like the design but my apartment is all light woods, light carpet, light furniture, light walls, light everything! I would like to order these but I dont like the color they are. Any suggestions of how to and what to do?
I recently bought my first house and in an effort to be energy and environmentally conscious, I have changed all the bulbs in the house to CFL bulbs. However, I have a six-socket chandelier in my dining work that doesn’t seem to work with these bulbs. When I put six CFLs in, the fixture refuses to turn on. When I put the normal light bulbs back, the fixture switches on and off with no problem.

I have this brass look chandelier in my kitchen. The same glass plates go on the chandelier by the front door and upstairs. The ones that are not in the kitchen are smaller versions of the same chandelier with the exact same glass plates. I busted one of the glass plates and need to find the manufacturer of the chandelier to see if I can get new glass plates. The Home Depot guy says I have to buy a whole new fixture! Come on – there has to be a way to solve this – can you help? I just need to buy a replacement glass plate from the manufacturer but I have no information on the manufacturer. Help!
It’s a brass look fixture where the glass plates have holes and hang on the ends of the brass spokes. The glass plates have beveled edges and frosted designs on the front.
All of the stores are telling me that I have to have an item number and even if I did have an item number – they don’t know how to buy replacement glass. It is absolutely insane to expect to buy another 0 fixture everytime you break a piece of glass. I can’t be the only person who has ever broken a glass pane on a chandelier and replaced the glass.
What I could do is use different style of glass plates and buy eight of those and put them on of the fixtures upstairs and then use those on the fixture in the kitchen because it has 50 plates. I don’t care what they look like as long as they are rectangular glass plates with a hole in the top.

I switched the main fuse back on as it blew all the lights and have tried several bulbs but none work. What could the problem be?

We live in a Fox and Jacobs built home and are trying to replace the kitchen chandelier with a fan approx. seventy pounds. We bought the support brace with attached fan box, but discovered there is a smaller brace already up there. We need to remove the old brace in order to put the other up there. How do we do this?
