The home I moved in to has a 3 way Rocker Combination switch in the bathroom. It controlled the ceiling light/fan. How it worked was this: The top switch turned on the light but dim. With the top switch on, turning on the 3rd switch brightened the light (im guessing it turned on another bulb?) and also turned on the exhaust fan. Without the top switch on, the 3rd switch does nothing. The middle switch does nothing no matter what.
The way it was wired: Black wire on the left side. On the Right side, it had a white wire on top, white wire in the middle, and Black wire on the bottom.
My question is this. Can I wire something into the middle switch? I want to put another light above the mirror. So far, I am having no luck making this work right.
One thing I tried, I can only get the middle switch to go on now if I have the Top Right switch on. But when doing this, the lights above the mirror are dim and the exhaust fan also goes on but barely. It goes on full if I have the Top and Bottom connected.
Can someone help me out here or is this just not possible? The brand is Leviton but I do not know the model number of the switch.
One thing I just found out was that they initially had a neutral wire tied to the black hot wires in the attic junction box.
Last thing I tried was this:
I connected the neutral wire that was tied to the hot wire to the other white wires in the junction box. At the switch, I had the hot black wire that has 120 going to the input side of the switch. I connected the black wire going to my vanity to on of the switches on the other side. And I connected the black wire that is tied to the fan/exhaust. However, only the fan/exhaust seem to work but the vanity light does not. I have the white wires tied together at the switch in a wire nut. I used a meter and read 120 volts in the connector the light bulb goes in to. The bulbs are not blowing I know for a fact. So why am are they not coming on if I have voltage there?

In an open plan appartment, the kitchen units are made of light beech. The worksurfaces are black. All walls painted white at the moment. To maximise the sense of space, is it best to choose living room furniture made of the same wood as the kitchen units? The appartment is on the small side, but has large bay windows overlooking the ocean. I would like the appartment to appear large, airy and modern.

I travel on business very often and I have stayed in many types of hotels, from luxury to budget class. I have noticed that virtually all modern hotels (built in the last 30-40 years) have no ceiling light fixtures in their rooms, only desk lamps or floor lamps. Why is this?
we have a chandelier that requires 7 60w standard bulbs it is too bright
