The best way to choose colors is by using a color wheel (use google to find one online, or purchase a cardboard one at a craft store). If you don’t want to paint, the pale yellow on your walls becomes your first color. For a low contrast color scheme, add more yellow, but in different tones. For a medium contrast design, choose greens or oranges. And for high contrast, go with light purple. Once you have your colors, shop for accessories such as bath towels and wall decor.

Here are articles on choosing colors and bath decor:

A super focal point could be a tile mural… any image any size to coordinate with the color,, on tumbled marble or ceramic.Add a wonderful rope frame and pretend your looking out on your own piece of heaven : )

To make the bathroom look bigger the paint color above the wood should be very light and semi gloss, that way it makes the room seem bigger. If you have a shower curtian keep it open, then it gives the room the illusion of a bigger space. Keep it simple maybe a couple pictures, with mirror backgrounds. Don’t over mask the bathroom.

I am redoing my bathroom right now!! I have found a couple of neat things on the internet. One is "tile tattoos" to cover tiles in the bathroom that you don’t like. I painted my old wooden vanity a beautiful shiny black and changed the mirror. Both of those things made a big change for a little bit of money. Yellow looks beautiful with blue – (think spoke, wedgewood, oriental willowware). Maybe you could paint the bottom of the wall a dark navy blue. Or do a great big sunflower theme with bold brown, yellow and green. Start with a great piece of art and follow the theme of the artwork.

The easiest way to bring it together is with a shower curtain or a piece of art. Find one with some of your yellow in it and then choose another color from it to accent with. Yellow looks great with red, purple pink, aqua, brown, gray and celery green.
