Are there any modern motorcycles (1990-2009) similarly-styled to the Triumph Bonneville?

My dream bike has always been the Triumph Bonneville (now, I want the new one), but it’s just too expensive. I’ve had a few 70s era Honda CBs because they are as close as you get to Triumph rip-offs. However, I would really like to buy a newer used bike with the same classic stylings (flat seat, round light–classic). Are there any asian bikes or others that look similar to the Triumph that are both modern yet won’t cost me more than 00 used?

Back in the late 80’s to early 90’s Honda made a limited production bike called the "tourist trophy". Never sold many, so not to many are still around, or if they are they are in peoples garages gathering dust. I have only ever seen 1 in all the literally millions of bikes i have seen in the states.

Kawasaki made the WS650 in the late 90’s to early 2000’s again a limited production bike, that was discontinued around 2005. It was a direct knock off of the bonnies of old. Right down to the engine cases and such.

With the budget you are looking to spend, I doubt you would get either of the above bikes. The days of cheap second hand japanese bikes have been long gone for many years, as they have held their value for the last almost 20 years. The only bikes you are gonna find for the money you are looking to spend need major repairs. Or perhaps someone who does not know much about the motorcycle market since the late 80’s, will be willing to sell a prized bike for that cheap.

$2000? only gonna find jappcrap for $2000, and none of them have that look anymore if you want it that new
$3000 maybe, and you can find a sportster 883 in the early 90’s and have a comparable bike to a bonny

the old yamaha 650 special is a vertical twin,I have one that i made into a chopper and people allways think its a Triumph! You should be able to pick one up cheap.Good motor they really last!

My 1st street bike was a ‘78 Yamaha SR500, a thumper (single cylinder) that I turned into a cafe racer; bored it out, hotter cam, White Bros. exhaust, SuperTrapp, clubman bars, made my own rearsets, good shocks, stiffer fork springs. Perfect city bike with gobs of torque.

Find one of those. Or an ‘86 SRX 600. Or wait until the Bonnies get old. or get a paper route…

Kawasaki made the the W650 around 2000 – 2002. 676 cc vertical twin. Looks pretty much like a bonny.

You might try craigslist I’ve seen some pretty decent deals there. Even saw a 70’s custom Triumph chopper for $3500. Then if you’re on a tight budget and really want to ride you may have to settle for what you can get. Two years after I quit smokin dope and drinking I saved enuff to pay cash for an 08 Bonny Black, take a look at what you spend money on, cut out the stuff you don’t need and get what you really want. Then that depends on how bad you want it. Rock n Roll
