My mom just bought a home and is in the process of purchasing three mini pendant lights to hang over her kitchen bar. Since the kitchen is directly next to the family room, she was thinking that the pendant lighting should match the ceiling fan that she’s also in the process of purchasing. The appliances in the kitchen are all stainless steel which includes a double oven, microwave, cooktop wine cooler and refridgerator. The ceiling fan will not be stainless steel but more of a brown/bronze color with bronze tent light covers. My question is, should her pendant lighting match the stainless steel appliances in her kitchen or should it match the ceiling fan in her family room? Thank you in advance for your answers.

I want to buy the glass jar pendants from West Elm. However I want to put these pendant lights about a couch and a dining table where there are no current lighting fixtures. Just plain ceiling. I’d need to run the cord down the wall to an outlet….does anyone know if this is possble? I assume I’d have to hire a professional to accomplish this, but will it cost me an arm and a leg? Any advice is appreciated!
ha – thanks…but i have nooooo idea what that means. so i guess my question is – should i hire someone to "jerry rig" it? i shouldnt be playing with wires and electricity..

We are building a house. I really wanted pendant lights over our island, but the ceilings are 18 ft. I think it will look odd hanging that far to the island. Do you have any suggestions for lighting in the space? Is recessed lighting our only option? Thanks!

I’d like to make a multi-bulb light that I can screw into a standard light socket. It’s a little hard to describe… Picture several individual bulbs, all hanging from one small base that screws into a single bulb socket. I would be happy if I could have ten or so standard OR smaller sockets hanging from one, or any light hanging by thin wires as long as the whole thing can be screwed into a standard socket. Can’t remember the restaurant I saw them at (Outback maybe?), but I’m trying to find regular incandescent light bulbs for the pendant light over my kitchen pub table. The thing is, we’re tall and the light is sorta glaring and harsh since our heads are close to the shade/fixture. I want a bulb that has an opaque coating on the bottom, so the light isn’t bright straight down, but still generates light to the sides. Make sense? Product name? Brand/model? Thanks!

My switches keep blowing. I do have the 3 strand wire, a 3-way switch at door, a 3 way dimmer at window/sink, & 3 separate pendants. Is the problem the way I have wired in the ceiling? I followed the colors-only white & black in the fixture. I twisted the 2 black 14-g wires together & wrapped the stranded wire & capped & taped—then I did the same with the white stranded wire – I twisted the 14-g white wires & wrapped the white stranded white etc. Looking at elec books I think I have a hot white wire problem going here.

i live in a ground floorflat flat upstairs is empty I need to fit a not awesome heavy pendant type chadelier how is this achieved. Do I need access to upstairs flat which I can not get anyway

I got two pairs of extra skinny skinny jeans, one dark wash with lots of rips in them, and one that’s just light blue.
I got two hoodies, one plain black and one a salmony color.
I got 8 graphic tees. all V-Neck and brightly colored, some with clever sayings on them.
I have several pendant necklaces, one a blue star, one a leaf, one a teardrop etc.
I have some sparkly red bows for my hair, along with two headbands, one polka dots, one plaid in red.
