do all bathroom light fixures above mirror/vanity have same cut out in wall?

I am wanting to change out my 4 light vanity light fixture with a new one that centers over the mirror. I know they all have backing plates but question is, is the hole universally the same behind the backing plate to screw it on? This is a newer home.

and also, can I just turn off light switch to bathroom light or do I need to turn off breaker switch before changing?

I’m remodeling my small bathroom and would like to know if anyone knows where I can buy a vanity light cheapper than homedepot.. I also need a faucet for a vessel sink,towel holder, and toilet paper holder. I would like oil rubbed finish. Thanks in advance everyone!

I am going to do a remodeling job on the house. First I plan to completely gut one bathroom and move the bathtub and sink in opposite spots. A larger bathtub and a bigger vanity with new lights, fixtures, and flooring. I also plan to replace the shower stall in another bedroom and change flooring, lights,sink,ect in that room. We are also wanting to rip the carpet up in one of the smalls rooms and make it into a laundry room. We would do painting and floors in that room too. I have been told so far I am in the 10-15k range. Does this seem reasonable or are they over pricing me? I don’t want to be taken advantage of just because its just me, my mom and my kids ( 1 is disabled) . Any ideas?
Yes it is a contractor I am going through. I told him to keep it under 20.

HELP! I broke a light bulb inside its socket. How can I safely remove it without getting zapped?

In my bathroom vanity thing, i somehow broke one of my light bulbs off. The metal screw part of the bulb is still in the light fixture, but the glass bulb is not. I’m afraid to touch it, even with the power off :/

Also, i don’t think i’ll be able to pull or twist it out very easily, cuz there’s nothing to grip onto.

My husband I had to down size into a smaller home then what we had. we didn’t think we were going to be here as long as we have been but it looks like we will be here a lot longer.. So i wanted to do some Updates.. My bathroom, has all 70’s fixtures and the colors are Blue sink with gold & white fixtures. Gold and brass lights, Blue tub, beige walls and white and beige speckled vanity & hard word floors and brown under sink cabinet. What colors go with those combos?

Does 27,000 seem reasonable for….?

We are doing 3 rooms in our home. 1 room completely gutted, new tile floor..6 foot long vanity, new lighting and a cabinet for towels etc..paint and new tub. The other bathroom everything gutted except the toilet. and added new shower unit ,floor .sink and fixtures. In the other room carpet pulled up and replaced with vinyl and made into a laundry room by adding proper plugs and because it is right beside the bathroom they will connect the water source that way. My contractor started out saying he could do it all under 10,000 then he went to 15.. then to 18,000 I took off glass doors and a few other things and now he is at a total of about 27,000. He has to pay a painter,and an electioneer to handle all that. My question is.. I don’t want to be taken advantage of. The money is coming out of a disability trust fund to make life easier for my son the contractor knows this.. so any thoughts?

Can I move junction box?

I have a light fixture above the sink in my bathroom that I would like to move a few inches to the right. I can’t see inside the wall to see what the junction box (I think that’s what it’s called) is attached to, but I wonder what the odds are that it could be moved slightly to the right so the light fixture will be centered. (A new vanity was installed and moved a little to the right.) I thought I would cut away some drywall to the right of it and see if I could move it, but I don’t know what kind of problems I might encounter. Any help would be appreciated.

We’re at about k. Two 25 year olds who didn’t realize that one things leads to another which leads to the next!

Water damage on the floor meant new flooring and floor cabinets. Floor cabinets meant upper cabinets that matched, as well as new countertops. All new cabinets meant we could build it to fit in a dishwasher and an over-the-range microwave. All that being stainless steel lead us to get a new fridge to match. Oh, and the countertops of course lead to a new kitchen sink.
Of course changing the house to bamboo flooring instead of laminate meant we should get a good tile for the bathroom. New tile lead to replacing the tub that my Jim has never liked anyway. New tub and you might as well get a new vanity, wall mirror, and light fixtures.
Ahhhhhhh!

remodeling bathroom tub,surround,commode white…walls a teal blue,fixtures brushed nickel…chose to paint the vanity since it is solid wood and has lots of storage rather than replace….The light fixture above the sink is 5 globes contemp style in a brushed nickel. faucet contemp with brushed nickel and sink white…Should I match the mirror with the vanity color or should I go with something like a frame less mirror.I don’t want something heavy.but should the mirror match the vanity color or the brushed nickel lights thanks
