I would like to purchase a wall sconce that was made to be hardwired and convert it to a plug in fixture. I rent and we move a lot, so hardwiring is not an option. I would love to give my daughter a nice reading lamp in her bottom bunk. She has a clip on lamp that is tearing up her bed and I can’t afford the nice plug in sconces around here. Can I do this safely? I’ve seen the plug in wall mounted fluorescent lamps, but they’re ugly.

I have 3 lamp shades. 2 made by L. Mascho ‘ 95 . And one other made by sombody who has a to complicated name to read. There old western wall sconce’s . one has 2 cowboys on horses . the other has 3 cowboys around a camp fire. So if anyone can find out how much they are. When i sell them ill give you a cut . haha thanks.

I just moved into a rental and the bedroom has dark brown carpet, beige walls and silver sconces.
I need color schemes for the bedding, drapes and lamp shades.

so i am a 14 yr old girl. trying to boost up my room.. I love my theme colours– Black/White and Purple (lavender)

and well i would like some ideas for some FUN decorations. i have one fulll wall shelf. Marolyn Manroe and Audry Hepburn are also party of the theme — New York City.
i love Volleyball, and Pictures. i have a big beautiful new york photo and 1 of each of the girls.
but i just don’t know what or how to decorate the top of book shelves. or armwires. … and the walls just seem empty. any ideas on iwall decals..
also,, what are your thoughts on Battery Powered wall sconces, cause i have a very dim lighted hallway from my door to the inside of my room..

I am renting and living in a very old cottage and it has some "quirks"

The light bulbs in two wall sconces mounted on the outside wall of the house, keep blowing out. The cottage is 88 years old and I am guessing that the electrical wiring isn’t the best. Anything that can be done? This will be the third time since the summer that I have to put in new bulbs. And they are just 60 watt standard bulbs.

I have been living with boyfriend for about six months now and has been a reallocates ride. We have had our share of really wonderful moments, but we have also had a number of very bad blowouts the last of which resulted in him leaving for the night and threatening to move out all together. These fights tend to be centered around him blowing up at me for stating my opinion about decorating changes that he’s made to the house. He feels that he is a professional and I should not be questioning his design choices. Overall I love everything he’s done, and I’ve just made two-three comments or suggestions about the things he’s done or plans to do currently.

He says that I am stifling his creativity and he stops in his tracks and says that he doesn’t feel he can work with me questioning him. I have told him that my comments were only my opinion and since he is the professional, I would defer to him. However, at the point I say that, he has already blown up. I am now left without sconces on the walls and couple of other unfinished projects. He says that I should just let him do what he wants because he has the vision and I don’t. We were planning to remodel another property as well as our own. Now he says he doesn’t feel comfortable doing that the way he would have because if I’m weighing in with my opinion it will stifle his creativity. He says he will only do the bare minimum on that project and when he has a property of his own he will go all out because he can do what he wants with that.

I don’t know what to think.. My head is spinning because I’m not sure if I should just let him be and not voice my opinion; just bite my tongue so to speak. Or go ahead and voice my opinion knowing that it could be the end of my relationship if I do.
