Hi, I wanna change those big 6” recessed lighting I have in the living room and kitchen in which it came with the house when I purchased it. I would like to get new ones 3” or 4” recessed lighting instead, without having to change the whole ceiling. Any suggestions on how this can be done? thanks in advance =)

you can get new surrounds that will cover the gap. home improvement stores sell them.

need to amend the plasterboard ceiling it would be quite a bit of work to repatch and match the existing..

basically it entails cutting a patch in board covering the existing hole and then cutting a new one to fit the smaller light

If you live in UK ,I recently seen some inserts to retro fit spot lamp fittings into old eyeball holes, these can be purchased at electrical wholesalers, think they were about £15 each.
Hope this helps!!
