Find out why the power is getting cut off. You can hook up a simple table lamp to where your modem is attached and try turning on and off the bathroom switch. If the light goes on and off, then your bathroom switch is covering more than just the bathroom light. Have the switch checked out for short circuit, if it is meant as a light switch and nothing more. Don't just move the modem to a different circuit. You need to find out the root cause.
