I am having a hard time deciding on how large a chandelier needs to be in order to have a good impact on the room. I have a very high A framed ceiling and the room is 28×28 any suggestions?

A room of this size will need a large chandelier. I would think at least two tiers and maybe three, and probably 4 feet across. If you are buying from a lighting store, they should have a consultant who can help you.
It should be in proportion to everything in the room as well as the size of the room. I would think that a 28×28 room with vaulted ceiling would take a pretty large chandelier to look right. Also depending on the rest of the furnishings will tell how high to hang it. I would think you want the bottom of it, no more than 7 1/2 to 8 feet from the floor, for the best impact.
