Sure, You can control how much light the chandelier puts out by choosing various wattages for the bulbs you install in it. It’s easy to add a dimmer to the switch box if you want to later. Lots of people have chandeliers without dimmers — it’s up to you to decide how you want to control the light. Some people like to be able to dim the light, others (like me) don’t care. I removed the dimmer from the chandelier circuit in my own dining room because I always turned it up to full power anyway.

Dimmers are recent….before them all chandeliers were installed without. Therefore it really is your choice…..
