All they need to do with lamps is unplug them and toss them in the dumpster and then plug in a new one. If it was a ceiling light they would need an electrician to take it down and disconnect the wires and then would need to buy an expensive replacement for the electrician to put up. It makes it easier for the hotel to modernize the decor.
