Some corners are so dark and gloomy that I can’t even see what’s on top of the furniture! I hate it! I don’t like candles all over the place either, because it’s not safe. Are their track lights that can stick to the wall? My celings are concaved in because I live right under the roof.
Well, I’m stuck living here for a few years. Help me make it more cheerful and bright.
Thanks for your help.

Since you live in a apartment, I assume your walls are already white or off white. Have you thought about trying those little white xmas tree lights that are all connected on a wire? Maybe you could run those along the concaved wall seems in your living room instead of traditional lighting, since you don’t have the room. Also, try some of those new battery operated candles to put on top of your furniture. Those 2 ideas should help to brighten up your little apartment!
Hope that helped!
Get lots of lights and many other colors in lightbulbs to sooth your mood and the apartment. It works!
Paint it white, Or get some lights, there are some small battery operated lights that can be stuck in the corners. But batteries don’t last too long, maybe a big light on one end, and a mirror on the other,
You didn’t mention the color of the walls and trim.
To help make the area look bigger paint the walls a bright white in an egg-shell or satin sheen. The brighter color and the mildly reflective surface of the paint will help bounce the light into the dark corners.
Also use big mirrors to make the room look like it continues on. also use furniture and decorations with vertical stripes. Painting vertical stripes(in light colors) on areas(don’t go nuts) of the wall will also make the room look taller.
Make sure any lights you use are very bright, especially near the dark corners. weak or dull lights will just make the area look small and cramped like a cave.
paint it a bright color, and get lots of lights. if u want, maybe even string christmas lights around. they’re cheap and can easily be put up and taken down.
or just get a bunch of lamps.
best of luck!
Oh, and mirrors help a bunch too
More lighting. There a numerous types of lighting that you can take with you when you move on.
You could also add lighter furnishings. i.e. rug, slipcovers, table cloths, throw, bedding. Pictures for the walls with a lot of white in them.
A mirror will also reflect lighting.
