		<description>If you mount it outside then the fixture may no longer be rain proof; it depends on the design.  Interior applications should make no difference; I have had to do that for a wall sconce on an interior staircase and the larger bulbs no longer fit properly into the fixture, so I changed to a smaller lower watt bulb.</description>
