My girlfriend bought a motion light fixture and It’s not the normal U.S. 2 wire fixture. Do I need to install a 3 way switch for this fixture?
The house only has single black and white wires, no red, green, yellow.

Usually yellow is hot and green is ground but what is this wire?
It’s 25 years old. So taping it off should be alright?
Alright I got it working now I gotta figure out how to set the timer and all the other crap, lol. Thanks

It is the ground wire. It should not be connected to anything but the ground.
Ground is another green wire or a bare copper wire or the metal case of the box if connected to a grounded metal conduit. If your house wiring is old, you may have an ungrounded system. Tape off the green/yellow wire and don’t connect to anything if you don’t have a ground.
