I have a light yellow sundress, empire waist, a-line (think fifties housewife with modern Gap twist) its a simple yellow dress and I’m thinking about adding a belt to accent/dress it up a bit. Any suggestions on color, style, etc?

A thick or thin belt will look good and be sure to wear shoes to match the belt and don’t forget the accessories in the same color to match.

It should either match you shoes or be a basic color.
I’d say black is you best bet, and it should be kind of slinky so you can adjust it to dangle low at your hips.
a thick, black patent belt would give the dress a more daring look with matching shoes. if you want a softer & "fifties housewife" look, go for a narrow & simple white belt with maybe light yellow polka dots to match the dress itself. if anything, it should always match the shoes you’re wearing so you can even go with that too. sounds like a cute dress by the way (:

Try finding either a thick white belt or even a rich brown would look nice. You can’t really go wrong with it just try on different belts…the belt on this page would be really nice maybe a little thicker than that one even.
