It really depends on the type of clowns you have. If you have Tomato or Clarkii Clownfish, you could keep a Bubble Tip or Long Tentacle Anemone in there with no problems. Bubble Tips are generally the most hardy, and they don’t get as large as other anemones. An Ocellaris or Percula won’t host these smaller anemones naturally, so they will probably just ignore them. They host anemones that are much too large for a 30 gallon aquarium. Just watch your water temperature and evaporation with the halide over the 30 gallon. Check out the link in the sources section for a good read on anemones.

Cheers

Captive Clownfish don’t really need an anemone, and in fact, most anemones don’t live that long in home aquariums. I would strongly recommend not getting one.

Furthermore, when the anemone dies, it will release toxins that will kill everyting else in your tank.

Most if not all anemones will be fine in a 30 gallon as long as you don’t over stock. The main things to focus on before you get one are water quality and lighting. If you get halide lighting and your water parameters are good you will be fine.friends of mine have had anemones going on 5 years with no problem’s.a few have lost anemones going through power heads and have not poisoned the rest of the tank or wiped it out.Go ahead and get one.it may take awhile for your clowns to host it or they may take to it straight away.
